TREATS in Italy

Italy trip May 28-June 7th 2020

Join Stacy Linehan, Owner of TREATS and Anna Hunt, Master Naturalist on an adventure of local foods and wines in Northern Italy.  If you have visited Italy before but want to stray off the beaten path or if you have never been to Italy before and are looking for an authentic experience in a small group setting, this trip is for you!  We will be centering our visit to the Piedmont and Liguria regions. Piedmont meaning “at the foot of the mountains” is known for its wine, chocolate, truffles, and slow food. The Mediterranean coastline of Liguria is known as the Italian Riviera with dramatic cliffs and sandy beaches. 

We begin our trip in Turin.  This Italian city, nestled just below the Alps and along the River Po, has everything that attracts people: scenic architectural heritage of past times, palazzos, shady parks, great little cafés, art galleries and museums.  From here we will travel through Asti and Cessole in the Langhe region on to Genoa and Cinque terre, ending our trip in Genoa or Milan via train.  We encourage people to extend their trip on either side. 

With connections in the wine world we will visit local vineyards and wine cellars, spending intimate time with the producers.  Part of our trip will also focus on regional cheeses, chocolate, cooking classes and some of the plants that make up this region. Near the end of our trip we will travel by train to Genoa and onto the famous Cinque Terre villages that make for fabulous walking, beach time and breathtaking beauty. Throughout our trip we will offer down time to take in this wonderful adventure.  Together we will immerse ourselves in the culture and the community of the region and intentionally share in the beauty of the northern Italy.
